Job Description

An established, award-winning child and family group practice in Northern Virginia, recognized by local readers and editors as one of the area's best mental health practices, and a place where clinicians put down roots; average tenure is 7+ years.
Here, you don't practice alone. You keep full clinical autonomy, you see the child or teen while a colleague sees the parent down the hall, or the other way around, and you bring a tough case to weekly team consultation and leave with three new ideas. After a hard session, someone is there.
The culture is simple: build real connections, do the everyday work exceptionally well, do the right thing, and go further than expected for the families you serve. That shows up with clients, with the pediatricians and schools who refer, and with each other.
The practice says the priority order out loud: you and your family first, then the families you serve. That's why pay is hourly fee-for-service with a quarterly bonus instead of a salary, so your caseload can flex with your life and a busy caseload pays you more. Because it's W2, the practice also pays your malpractice, your license fees, and a retirement match, which a 1099 practice can't offer.

• Build a specialty. Expand on what you love doing or develop one you're curious about (anxiety, trauma, ADHD, parenting, couples and family work, eating disorders, and more). The practice builds a referral stream around it. Bring the interest and drive, and we'll help you build it.
• Work with the whole family. Individual, parent, and family sessions, with colleagues who can see other family members when that serves the case.
• Learn from the team every week. Case consultation, in-house didactics, and colleagues who share what's working.
• Invest in advanced training. $1,000 a year in continuing education after two years, plus a sabbatical benefit of up to $8,000 toward an advanced certification as you build tenure.
• Grow into leadership. Room to build programs or supervise trainees.

Billing, intake scheduling, and correspondence are handled by administrative staff. Referrals come from years of relationships with area pediatricians, schools, and counselors. A waitlist means your caseload fills in months, not a year of marketing yourself.

• Licensed clinicians at 20+ clinical hours a week typically earn $120,000 or more; the full range is $60,000 to $170,000+ by licensure and clinical hours
• Fee-for-service pay, so your caseload can flex with your life, plus a quarterly bonus that rises with your weekly client hours
• W2 employment, with the employer share of payroll tax paid, group malpractice coverage, and Virginia license fees reimbursed with no waiting period
• Simple IRA with a 1:1 match up to 3% after one year
• Access to health, dental, and vision insurance
• Paid time off as a cash bonus that grows with tenure: a paid week each year from the July after your first full year, and a second week after five years

• Cases curated to your interests and strengths, building to 22+ clinical hours a week
• Child, teen, and family therapy, plus adults where it fits your practice
• Monday to Friday, afternoons and early evenings, primarily in person with some telehealth, and room for weekends if you choose
• Weekly team meetings and an annual retreat that are central to how the team works together

• Independently licensed LCSWs, LPCs, and LMFTs in Virginia, or licensed elsewhere and on a documented path to Virginia licensure
• Supervisees in social work are welcome to apply; supervision toward Virginia LCSW licensure is available in-house
