IT Field Support Technician (Beaver Falls, PA; Pittsburgh, PA)
General
Purpose:
The IT Field Support Technician is responsible for providing hands‑on, on‑site IT support across active job sites and company locations. This role focuses on deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting IT hardware and connectivity in field environments while ensuring alignment with enterprise IT standards, security policies, and operational best practices. This position regularly travels to job sites to support field operations and plays a critical role in job site mobilization, demobilization, and ongoing IT support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Site & Field Support
- Travel to active job sites and corporate offices to install, configure, and support IT equipment including laptops, desktops, printers, scanners, copiers, mobile devices, and network equipment.
- Set up and support job‑site IT infrastructure, including:
- Internet connectivity (wired, wireless, cellular)
- Routers, firewalls, switches, and access points
- Printers and multifunction devices
- Provide on‑site troubleshooting and resolution of hardware, connectivity, and peripheral issues.
- Support job site mobilization and demobilization activities, ensuring IT assets are deployed and recovered according to company standards.
Hardware Deployment & Lifecycle Management
- Stage, image, configure, and deploy enterprise hardware for new hires, project teams, and site expansions.
- Perform hardware refreshes, replacements, and upgrades.
- Track and manage IT assets in accordance with asset management policies.
- Coordinate equipment shipments, returns, and repairs with vendors and service providers.
Enterprise IT Operations Support
- Serve as an escalation point for field‑related IT issues beyond remote help‑desk capabilities.
- Work closely with the central IT team to ensure field environments align with corporate standards for:
- Security
- Configuration
- Documentation
- Assist with standard operating procedures, documentation, and job‑site IT checklists.
Vendor & Third‑Party Coordination
- Coordinate with internet service providers, copier vendors, and other third‑party IT service providers.
- Support vendor‑led installations and troubleshoot service issues on‑site.
- Validate vendor work meets company standards before acceptance.
Security & Compliance
- Follow company IT security policies and procedures while working in field and office environments.
- Ensure devices are properly configured with endpoint protection, patching, and management tools.
- Report security incidents, lost or stolen equipment, and policy violations in accordance with IT procedures.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of hands‑on IT support experience in a field, desktop, or infrastructure support role.
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Windows operating systems
- PC and laptop hardware
- Printers and peripherals
- Basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, Wi‑Fi, routers, switches)
- Experience deploying and supporting IT equipment in non‑office or field environments.
- Ability to work independently on job sites with minimal supervision.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites and corporate offices (approximately 40–60%).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting construction, industrial, or multi‑site environments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Intune, and endpoint management tools.
- Experience with cellular internet solutions and temporary job‑site connectivity.
- Understanding of IT asset management and documentation practices.
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certifications.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to lift and move IT equipment (up to ~50 lbs).
- Comfortable working in active job‑site environments.
- Ability to travel locally and regionally as required.

Compensation
Estimated salary range: $50,000 – $80,000, depending on experience. Includes travel compensation and comprehensive benefits. This is a full‑time position.
