Position: Long-Term Teacher Substitute (Certified) - High School Science

Long-Term Teacher Substitute (Certified) - High School Science

Falmouth High School seeks a Long-Term Teacher Substitute (Certified) for a Science classroom from approximately mid-January, 2026 to mid-April, 2026. We are looking for someone who is a collaborative team player, technologically savvy, and passionate about nurturing the academic, social, and emotional development of science skills for high school students.

Responsibilities
  • Teaching science courses - including Earth and Space Science, Marine Studies and co-teach Forest and Garden Studies.
  • Coordinate with the Science Content Leader and utilize common planning time with colleagues
  • Maintain accurate records on student progress
  • Implement the school’s Advisory programming as an advisor to a group of students.
  • Comply with, and support, school policies and procedures
Qualifications / Certifications / Experience / Degree Requirements
  • A valid Maine Department of Education teaching certificate and Science endorsement is required
  • Experience working with high school students
  • Approved background check (run by the district)
Wage And Benefits
  • Teacher Scale - BA, Step 0, per diem rate ($287.00/day). This position does not include benefits.
