JOB GOALS: As a teacher leader in the classroom, you will plan and teach highly effective lessons, work as part of a grade level and curricular team, and develop high‑leverage relationships with colleagues, students, and families. You will also implement strategies to support all learners by applying principles and concepts important for teaching elementary school curriculum; applying theories of cognitive, social, emotional;
and supporting language development from childhood through early adolescence.
- DESE MA Elementary 1‑6 required.
- SEI endorsement preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree required;
Master's Degree preferred. - Experience teaching at appropriate level preferred.
- Other alternatives deemed acceptable by the Superintendent of Schools.
- Under the direction of instructional leadership and in collaboration with grade‑level colleagues, develop curricular objectives and implementation strategies in alignment with state curriculum frameworks.
- Design, implement, and revise curricular units and proficiency scales for standards/subjects.
- Develop daily and long‑range plans for each course taught, relating instruction to students’ needs, curricular objectives, and state learning standards.
- Advance excellence and equity through instructional practices that meet the needs of all students, including those who are advanced, multilingual English‑language learners, and those qualifying for a 504 plan or special‑education services.
- Evaluate classroom activities on a daily and long‑range basis in respect to educational goals.
- Assume necessary supervisory responsibilities when required.
- Cooperate with principal, colleagues, and families in extracurricular activities.
- Maintain accurate grading and attendance records.
- Develop effective relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Assess each student's progress academically and socially and communicate regularly with stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain student behavior standards and employ classroom management strategies.
- Accept supervision and guidance from instructional leadership and Principal.
- Attend required and scheduled professional meetings.
- Serve on curriculum revision and general‑operation committees.
- Pursue continued professional growth through seminars, courses, and endorsed learning.
- Other responsibilities assigned by the Principal and/or elementary instructional leader.
SALARY: In accordance with FPS Substitute Rates
