A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MECHANIC

As a Mechanic, you play a critical role in making sure our equipment is functioning and operable in a timely manner. From diagnosing equipment and ordering parts, you ensure that equipment is working correctly and ready to be used in the field. You perform scheduled maintenance, dismantle devices, remove defective parts and test vehicle/equipment performance, all while maintaining a clean work area.

You work mostly independently throughout the day, communicating with the Shop team, the field personnel, and dispatch to ensure everyone is kept up to speed on equipment repair. Safety is a priority in everything you do.

Applying strong technical skills, you apply your knowledge of machinery repair to get our equipment up and running quickly. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, embrace working independently, and find deep satisfaction in successfully solving problems and working with state of the art heavy equipment. You are hard-working, hands-on, and able to perform physical tasks, and don't mind getting a little messy.

Qualifications For a Mechanic

  • High School Diploma or two (2) years of vocational or technical training plus at least two (2) years of experience diagnosing and repairing heavy construction equipment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A valid CDL A driver's license, medical card, clean driving abstract.
  • Ability to meet Federal DOT requirements, including Drug & Alcohol Query and Safety Performance History.
  • Must have (or be able to obtain) a Hoisting Engineer's license (1C & 2A preferred).
  • Must have (or be able to obtain) OSHA 10 certification. OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
  • Must have (or be able to obtain) Hotworks certification.
Technical training in mechanical repair on both trucks and heavy equipment AND two years of related work experience are strongly preferred but multiple factors will be taken into consideration.
