This is not a client-facing position. The role will support our offices, partners and staff across the group, helping them maintain consistent quality and compliance standards and providing practical assistance across the full range of work undertaken by the central compliance team.

What You'll Be Doing

As our Accounts and Quality Manager

  • Managing the accounts cold file review programme, including selecting a sample of accounts preparation files from each office throughout the year, providing feedback on recurring issues and supporting improvements in accounts quality through practical guidance and targeted group-wide support.
  • Carrying out on-site compliance due diligence (DD) reviews of prospective acquisitions, covering accounts files, systems, procedures and compliance records.
  • Contributing to written DD reports by clearly identifying material risks and recommending practical remedial actions.
  • Monitoring and following up compliance actions arising before completion and during post-acquisition integration.
  • Providing practical support to offices and staff on wider practice compliance matters, including the application of internal policies and best practice.
  • Using findings from quality reviews, due diligence and wider compliance work to develop practical guidance, training and improvements to group processes.
  • Supporting the central compliance team with other ad hoc projects and priorities as required.
What We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:

  • ACA/ACCA/ICAS qualified or qualified by experience.
  • Strong practical knowledge of United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (UK GAAP) and accounts file requirements.
  • Good technical judgement and the ability to identify, assess and communicate significant issues.
  • Strong written, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • A practical, proportionate and solutions-focused approach.
  • The confidence to work constructively with partners, managers and staff across the group.
  • The ability to manage multiple reviews, work streams and follow-up actions.
  • A willingness to travel to group offices and prospective acquisition targets as required.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who shares our values, enjoys working collaboratively and is passionate about delivering great results.
