A leading regional contractor with a reputation for delivering high‑quality commercial, education, healthcare and mixed‑use projects is seeking an Assistant Design Manager to join their growing pre‑construction and delivery team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step up, gain exposure to complex schemes, and develop under an experienced Head of Design.

• Supporting the Design Manager across multiple live and pre‑construction projects.
• Coordinating design information between consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and technical submissions to ensure compliance and buildability.
• Assisting with design programmes, risk registers, and design progress reporting.
• Attending design team meetings and contributing to technical problem‑solving.
• Helping drive value engineering, innovation, and quality standards across the design process.

• Experience in a design‑related role within construction (contractor, consultancy, or architectural background).
• A solid understanding of construction processes, technical detailing, and design coordination.
• Confident communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
• A proactive mindset with a desire to learn, take ownership, and progress into a full Design Manager role.
• Experience with BIM, Revit, or digital design tools is beneficial but not essential.
