Position: 1:1 Art Therapy Tutor  - Outreach Support
Art Therapy Tutor - 1:1 Outreach Support (Fareham, Gosport & Waterlooville)

Prospero Teaching is seeking a creative, empathetic, and child‑centred Art Therapy Tutor to deliver bespoke 1:1 therapeutic education packages to young people across Fareham, Gosport, and Waterlooville who are currently unable to access mainstream education.

This outreach role is ideal for someone with experience in art therapy, expressive arts, or creative therapeutic education, who is passionate about supporting children and young people with SEN and SEMH needs. Your sessions will offer a safe, nurturing space where pupils can explore emotions, build coping strategies, develop self‑awareness, and grow in confidence through creative expression.

What the Sessions Aim to Support

Emotional exploration, self‑regulation, and coping strategies
Motivation to initiate and sustain social interaction
Development of reflective thinking and problem‑solving skills

Creative Techniques May Include

Colouring, collage, scribbling
Drawing, finger painting, painting
Photography, sculpting, mixed‑media activities

Contract / Position Details

Location:

Fareham, Gosport & Waterlooville

Part‑time (2-15 hours per week)
Session Length: 1-3 hours per session
Pay Rate:
From £25 per hour

Dependent on each pupil's needs

Experience, Training & Qualifications

QTS, QTLS, PGCE or a relevant Art Therapy qualification
Minimum 6 months' experience working with children or young people in the UK
Experience supporting SEN and SEMH needs
Up‑to‑date Safeguarding training

Eligibility Requirements

Right to Work in the UK
Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Two professional, child‑related references covering the last two years
