Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Additional Learning Support (ALS) Officer to join our team. This is a full-time position, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, supporting learners across a range of adult and apprenticeship programmes.

The successful candidate will play a key role in providing high-quality learning support to adult learners, many of whom have additional learning support needs. This role is distinct from traditional 16–18 provision and requires a strong understanding of adult learning environments and apprenticeship frameworks.

As an ALS Officer, you will work closely with curriculum teams, apprentices, and external stakeholders to ensure learners receive appropriate, timely, and effective support that enables them to achieve their full potential. You will be responsible for identifying support needs, implementing reasonable adjustments, and monitoring learner progress throughout their programme.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide tailored learning support to adult learners with additional needs

* Support apprentices in both classroom and workplace learning environments

* Conduct assessments to identify learning support requirements

* Develop and review support plans in collaboration with teaching staff

* Maintain accurate records and contribute to progress reviews

* Liaise with employers, tutors, and support services as required

About You:

* Proven experience in a Learning Support or ALS role

* Strong understanding of apprenticeships and adult education

* Experience supporting learners with additional learning needs

* Excellent communication and organisational skills

* A supportive, inclusive, and learner-centred approach

This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting adult learners to succeed in their education and career pathways
