£50k - £65k Dependent on experience

Electrical Design Engineer Responsibilities
 
* Design and develop electrical systems in support of complex design-to-order projects.
 
* Create system schematics, circuit diagrams to meet specific project requirements for data and power electrical requirements.
 
* Provide electrical and electronic subject matter expert advice across the technical services department.
 
* Complete conceptual electrical design using Solidworks Electrical, prototype build and design verification testing as required.
 
* Calculate voltage drops, cable deratings, supply sizes and protection systems.
 
* Provide electrical design authority for existing and new electrical projects, answering design questions and helping resolve arising issues.
 
* Ensure designs meet the electrical safety standards as specified by the customers or by regulatory requirements. Minimum to meet UKCA/CE/FCC marking as appropriate.
 
* Work collaboratively with the engineering teams and production to document, build and verify prototype parts and when needed, train build operators.
Qualifications/Attributes
Essential Desirable

Experience:

* Established Electrical Design Engineer who has xperience across a range of projects
 
* Bachelor’s or Masters degree in electrical engineering.
 
* Chartered Engineer or working towards professional registration
 
* 7-10 years of industrial experience.
 
* Designing AC (upto 415V) and DC systems (upto 36V) for various markets, including complex markets with strict standards such as defence.
 
* Experience of working with/designed to meet: BS EN Standards eg. 62368, 61010 (Safety), Military specs (Def-Stan).
 
* Good working knowledge of IPC WHMA-A-620
