Transport Planner
Location: Fareham, Hampshire
Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:30-17:00
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
An established and growing transport consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Transport Planner to join their Fareham-based team. This is a great opportunity to work across a varied project portfolio while developing your technical skills and progressing your career within a supportive environment. You’ll be involved in a wide range of residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments, taking ownership of projects from initial concept through to completion, while working closely with clients, local authorities, and internal teams.
The Role- Manage transport planning projects, ensuring delivery to agreed timescales and budgets
- Prepare technical reports including Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, and Technical Notes
- Analyse transport data to assess trip generation, distribution, and network impact
- Produce and review transport drawings such as access layouts, vehicle tracking, and visibility splays
- Undertake site visits to assess existing conditions and inform development proposals
- Liaise with clients, project teams, and Local Highway Authorities
- Support planning applications and contribute to stakeholder engagement activities
- Assist with fee proposals and project bids
- Degree (or equivalent) in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
- Around 2+ years' experience in a transport planning role
- Working towards (or keen to work towards) a relevant professional qualification
- Strong understanding of UK planning policy, guidance, and design standards
- Experience producing high-quality technical reports
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD, TRICS, or modelling software beneficial
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Confident communicator with a proactive and problem-solving approach
