As a Design Engineer you will develop robust, manufacturable products from concept through to production including design, prototyping and testing. Working within a cross‑functional team you will deliver high‑quality solutions that meet performance, environmental and regulatory requirements.

• Develop mechanical components and sub-systems throughout the full product development life cycle.
• Identify and evaluate technologies and design solutions that meet functional and performance requirements.
• Create robust mechanical designs, three-dimensional models and two-dimensional manufacturing drawings using Solid Works.
• Apply engineering principles, simulation, failure analysis, design for manufacture and geometric dimensioning to improve product quality.
• Build prototypes and prepare and carry out verification and validation tests including hand‑on testing and analysis of your designs.
• Plan and manage your design activities to meet agreed project timescales and budget constraints.
• Work closely with colleagues across project management, hardware, software, supply chain and compliance as well as external suppliers.
• Travel to suppliers or customers when required, including locations in Asia and the Americas.
• Carry out the role in accordance with all relevant legislation and following Raymarine’s policies and processes, including those relating to ethics, compliance, cyber security, product development, labour and human rights, and the environment.
• Undertake all mandatory training as requested.

• A degree or equivalent qualification in product design, mechanical design engineering or a related subject.
• Proven experience in a mechanical design role, ideally within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Solid Works for three-dimensional modelling and manufacturing drawing creation.
• A good understanding of manufacturing processes such as casting, injection moulding and machining.
• Practical experience of developing products from concept through prototyping, testing and production.
• A sound understanding of design for quality and design for manufacture principles.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and problem‑solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Fluency in written and spoken English, and willingness to work onsite with the team at least four days per week.
