Graduate​/Junior Electrical Design Engineer

Looking for your first proper step into electrical design? A global engineering manufacturer is growing its UK R&D team in Fareham and wants a graduate or early-career Electrical Design Engineer to join an established, supportive electrical engineering team.

You’ll be working on next-generation products for some of the most exciting sectors in engineering, including data centres, heat pumps and hydrogen fuel cells
, alongside engineers in the UK and across Europe.

• Producing electrical drawings, schematics and BOMs in AutoCAD Electrical (around 70% of the role)
• Supporting the design and development of electrical and controls systems for new products, in line with CE, UL and machinery safety standards
• Providing technical support to sales teams and customers
• Writing and maintaining technical manuals, guidance documents and work instructions
• Working with mechanical, manufacturing, quality and product teams to bring new products to market

• Experience using AutoCAD Electrical
• A solid grounding in electrical engineering principles
• Some practical experience outside university, such as a placement, internship or industry role
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to explain technical detail to customers and colleagues

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• PLC programming experience
• Experience writing technical documentation
• Exposure to HVAC or heat exchanger products

• Structured mentoring and training from experienced engineers
• Hybrid working after an initial three months in the office
• Occasional travel to sites across Europe, with opportunities further afield
• Clear progression within a global R&D organisation
