Assistant Financial Accountant

Contract Length: 6 months

Location:

Fareham – 3 days per week on site

This role supports the preparation of audited annual financial statements and external returns, acting as a key coordination point for audit bodies.

• Managing audit liaison activity, preparing reconciliations and audit evidence packs
• Supporting statutory accounts preparation and ensuring monthly reconciliations are accurate
• Reviewing and analysing financial data to provide insight to Finance Leadership and stakeholders
• Providing financial accounting and tax guidance across the organisation
• Ensuring compliance with IFRS and FReM reporting standards
• Supporting VAT returns, governance processes, and implementation of new accounting rules

• CCAB/CIMA qualified or working towards qualification
• Strong understanding of financial accounting and statutory reporting
• Knowledge of IFRS and FReM
• Good Excel capability
• Ability to manage tight, non-negotiable deadlines
• Experience with in government accounting, Managing Public Money, or Oracle Financial Cloud would be advantageous.
