Are you an experienced Buyer with a background in manufacturing, engineering or a technical environment?
Are you confident managing suppliers, negotiating costs and ensuring materials are delivered on time, to specification and at the right price?
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business in Fareham, playing a key role in supporting production and improving supplier and procurement performance.
The RoleAs Buyer
, you ll take ownership of purchasing materials, components and services, working closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure production requirements are met.
You ll focus on achieving the best possible cost, quality and delivery performance, while identifying opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Source and purchase materials, components and services
- Manage supplier relationships and performance across cost, quality and delivery
- Negotiate pricing, terms and lead times
- Raise and manage purchase orders through ERP/MRP systems
- Work closely with Production, Planning and Engineering
- Monitor lead times, stock levels and purchasing requirements
- Resolve supply issues quickly to minimise production disruption
- Identify cost-saving and process improvement opportunities
- Support continuous improvement across procurement and supply chain
- Proven experience as a Buyer, Senior Buyer or Procurement professional
- Previous experience within manufacturing, engineering or a technical environment
- CIPS qualification or equivalent essential
- Strong procurement and supply chain knowledge
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems
- Proven supplier management and negotiation skills
- Strong commercial awareness and organisational skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach
Full and unrestricted UK right to work is essential. Candidates must have British/Irish citizenship or Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), with no requirement for visa sponsorship.
Experience with in a technical, regulated or complex manufacturing environment would be advantageous, as would knowledge of MRP, inventory planning, cost reduction or continuous improvement.

You ll be someone who spots problems early, finds solutions and gets things done.
