About the Role
We are recruiting for an experienced Colchester Lathe Operator to join a growing aerospace manufacturing business on a long-term PAYE contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a precision engineering environment, producing high-quality components to exacting aerospace standards.
You will be responsible for setting and operating Colchester lathes, working from engineering drawings, and ensuring all work meets strict quality requirements.
First 12 Weeks
Basic: £18.13 p/h (Accrued Holiday) | £20.77 p/h (Advanced Holiday)
Overtime: £27.20 p/h (Accrued Holiday) | £31.15 p/h (Advanced Holiday)
Sundays: £36.26 p/h (Accrued Holiday) | £41.54 p/h (Advanced Holiday)
After 12 Weeks
Basic: £18.68 p/h (Accrued Holiday) | £21.40 p/h (Advanced Holiday)
Overtime: £28.03 p/h (Accrued Holiday) | £32.10 p/h (Advanced Holiday)
Sundays: £37.37 p/h (Accrued Holiday) | £42.80 p/h (Advanced Holiday)
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate Colchester lathes safely and efficiently.
Manufacture components to engineering drawings and specifications.
Conduct in-process inspections using standard measuring equipment.
Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy.
Adhere to all health, safety and aerospace quality procedures.
Support continuous improvement activities within the manufacturing team.
Candidate Requirements
Previous experience operating Colchester lathes within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Experience using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, and gauges.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Eligibility
Candidates must have the right to live and work in the UK and be able to comply with ITAR requirements.
