MISSION PRIEST/CHURCH PLANTER

We have a remarkable opportunity for a visionary, self-starting church-planter to shape the creation of two brand new church communities.

Could you be the right person to mobilise and inspire a group of worshippers from St John’s Church, Fareham, to plant a new evangelical Anglican congregation, aimed at young families and built on committed prayer and contemporary worship? You’d be planting into the 800-year-old St Peter and St Paul Church in the town centre, in partnership with Portsmouth diocese?

Then could you grow and shape this church, used tried-and-tested parish ministry and innovative outreach, to reach 350 adult and young disciples? And then could you inspire this congregation to plant into the brand new town of Welborne , a 6,000-home development that will be taking shape over the next few years.

Grant money has been awarded by the national Church of England to re-order St Peter and St Paul’s Church, employ initial staff, and kick-start this incredible faith venture. This role is part of the diocese’sVision and Strategy for the next five years, which includes plans to create new church plants and worshipping communities across our diocese, and to double the number of young disciples.

Suitable candidates will have an apostolic church-planting calling, will be ordained in the CofE, have experience in church leadership and will be able to show evidence of growing churches or similar organisations.
