12‑hour shifts – days, nights and weekends
Additional clearance: SIA minimum. Candidate must have strong communication skills and be physically fit for long patrols. Candidate should ideally drive and have access to own vehicle.
Job Overview- Protect customer’s property, people and/or assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the site’s Assignment Instructions (AI) and any subsequent changes.
- Deliver results that meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators / Service Level Agreements, ensuring full responsibility and accountability to help retain the contract.
- Undertake additional training to ensure continuous self‑development.
- Be aware of and ensure compliance with all aspects of policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK law and guidance bodies.
- Fully and satisfactorily complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions.
- Proactively review the Assignment Instructions and suggest amendments to improve service levels.
- Comply with industry and statutory legislation, wearing a front‑line licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervision) at all times and holding a CCTV PSS SIA licence. Additional required courses are contractually mandated.
- Follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessarily challenging authority.
- Work systematically, methodically and orderly.
- Complete all required competency training.
- Undertake additional training for continuous self‑development as directed by the Security Account Manager.
- Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop expertise through continual professional development.
- Renew licence 16 weeks before expiry.
- Report any health and safety hazards or potential hazards on site immediately.
- Stay alert to threats or changes in the work environment and take appropriate action to reduce disruption, loss or damage.
- Use common sense and initiative by involving others if the situation becomes threatening.
- Maintain professional conduct in difficult situations or with challenging customers.
- Complete accurate notebook entries after any incident for incident report processing.
- Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
- Ensure check calls are carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions.
- Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.
- Previous security experience
- SIA Licence
- SC Clearance desirable
