OVERVIEW:

Flag Family Media/Fieldstone Group is looking for an Assistant Broadcast Operations Coordinator to join our multi-station team in Fargo (WDAY, WZFG, KTGO)! This role is all about keeping our broadcasts running smoothly — from live shows to digital content — and supporting the operations team in day-to-day tasks.

You’ll be hands-on with scheduling, automation systems, equipment management, and live broadcast support. The ideal candidate is tech-savvy, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where no two days are the same.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with daily broadcast operations, including automation systems, scheduling, and content management.
  • Monitor on-air broadcasts, logs, and playlists to ensure everything runs smoothly.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with studios, streaming systems, and network connectivity, escalating as needed.
  • Help maintain broadcast and production equipment; coordinate maintenance and repairs.
  • Support live broadcasts, remote events, and breaking news coverage when needed.
  • Keep detailed records of operational issues, system updates, and equipment inventories.
  • Contribute ideas to improve workflow, documentation, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with FCC rules and company policies across all stations.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Comfort working with broadcast automation systems and basic audio/IT troubleshooting.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate clearly with a team.
  • Flexible and willing to work occasional nights, weekends, or holidays.
  • Interest in broadcast operations and a desire to grow in the field.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience in broadcast operations, media production, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in radio, television, or digital media operations is a plus.
