Schedule:
9‑month, Monday through Friday, 7:30 am – 3:00 pm CST
- 1. Instructional Support: Provide instructional support for academics or behavior under direction of a certified teacher. Responsibilities include teaching and learning‑based support and instruction related to social, emotional, and behavioral development.
Priority:
Essential
Percent of Time: 80%
Examples:- Provide instructional support and monitor students, individually or in small groups, with an assigned intervention.
- Maintain classroom supplies, materials, and records.
- Observe, monitor, and record student performance and behavior; assess learning needs and implement instruction plans.
- Assist in managing and improving student behavior, including crisis intervention.
- Attend meetings with lead teacher/interventionist to discuss progress and adjust groups.
- 2. Professional Development: Maintain, acquire, and expand position‑related theory and technical knowledge.

Percent of Time: 10%
Examples:- Complete annual certification for Ukeru prior to hiring or within 4 months.
- Complete Catalyst Supporting Small Group Classroom Leadership or Success of Individual Students within one year.
- Complete Introduction to Restorative Practices within one year from hire date.
- 3. General Support: Other duties as assigned.

Secondary
Percent of Time: 10%
Examples:- Perform routine clerical duties, maintain records, copy and file paperwork.
- Provide general student supervision indoors and outdoors.
- Attend conferences and workshops for career development; participate in staff meetings.
- Provide physical support for students to resolve safety concerns or direct appropriate personnel.
- Respond to emergency situations, including injuries, fights, or school drills.
- Assist students with hygiene tasks as necessary; meet diverse special health care needs.
- Load/unload wheelchair‑bound students on bus and coordinate transportation.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to communicate with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians
- Experience working or volunteering in a school setting
- Associate degree in Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a similar field
- Title I certification or Paraprofessional certification if hired at a Title I building (at least 48 semester hours completed or equivalent)
