Responsibilities:
  • Produce mechanical designs for packaging machinery meeting customer specifications using creativity and innovation.
  • Handle all aspects of design engineering work.
  • Provide production support to machining and assembly areas.
  • Use Pro/E to model purchase and custom parts.
  • Draft detailed multi-view drawings of machines and products.
  • Research manufacturing process designs.
  • Perform prototyping activities for new product development.
  • Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
  • Review product designs for compliance with standards and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with vendors, customers, and colleagues professionally.
  • Analyze and resolve problems.
  • Specify and order tools and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot project-related issues.
  • Create BOMs for purchased and machined parts.
  • Communicate with customers via meetings and presentations to understand their needs.
  • Travel to customer sites for presentations and system assessments.
  • Qualifications:
    • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
    • Minimum 5 years of mechanical design experience in automation or related field.
    • At least 2 years of FAI design engineering experience.
    • Proficiency in Pro/Engineer software.
    • Ability to design new concepts and standards.
    • Ability to plan over a 3-6 month horizon.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
    • Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
    • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
