This is a high-impact opportunity for a Control Systems Engineer to support advanced agricultural operations, improve efficiency, and lead automation-focused capital projects within a fast-paced technical environment.
You’ll play a critical role in optimizing control systems, enhancing production processes, and supporting major seasonal capital initiatives that help ensure equipment is ready for peak operation.
What You’ll Do- Lead and support a positive work culture centered on safety, integrity, quality, teamwork, and accountability.
- Plan, execute, and manage capital projects for agricultural deep‑freeze and piler systems—ensuring on‑time, on‑budget completion.
- Support equipment startup and commissioning, coordinating with multiple contractors and internal teams prior to harvest season.
- Design, develop, and implement control systems for both continuous and batch agricultural processes.
- Research and recommend enhancements for automation and control systems to drive efficiency and reduce processing and labor costs.
- Provide hands‑on expertise to maintain continuous uptime of control system equipment.
- Create and maintain detailed control documentation including P&IDs, loop diagrams, specifications, control narratives, PLC programs, and HMI configurations.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams on equipment selection, installation, troubleshooting, and process improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate projects and equipment for lifecycle value and ROI.
- Deliver training on electrical, instrumentation, and control systems to ensure safe and effective operation by personnel.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support automation and operational goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong background in industrial control systems, automation, and instrumentation.
- Hands‑on experience with PLCs (Allen Bradley, Horner), DCS (Delta
V), instrumentation networking, HMIs, programming, process simulation, and drafting/design tools (AutoCAD). - Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Strong decision‑making and organizational skills to support complex equipment startups and fast‑paced project timelines.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to agricultural and factory sites as needed.
