Structural engineering projects range from complex grade separation projects and large bridges spanning a river with architectural enhancements to box culverts for a rural township over a small ditch. The structural engineers have also designed a variety of hydraulic structures such as dams, flood walls, gate wells, and some of the most complex lift stations in the region.

• Prepare detailed engineering analyses, schedules, technical reports, etc.
• Design structural engineering projects together with CAD designers.
• Attend meetings and communicate with other civil engineering disciplines and outside consultants or agencies, to advance structural projects from conceptual level to final design.
• Manage all aspects of contract administration which includes writing, change requests, invoices, and progress payments and maintain project budget and costs.
• Perform in-service safety inspections and load ratings of existing bridges.
• Mentor and oversee the work of less experienced structural engineer team members.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Agricultural and Biological Systems Engineering, Bioproducts and Biosystem Engineering, or related Engineering field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in the design and construction of structures.
• ND Professional Engineer license or the ability to obtain the license within 6 months required.
• Experience operating Micro Station Open Roads preferred (but not required).
• Strong leadership and project management skills.
• Working knowledge of project team roles and responsibilities.
• Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes.
• Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with groups both internally and externally.
