The Opportunity
Ulteig is currently seeking a Transportation BIM Intern (Bentley Systems Focus) to support our Civil Infrastructure team during the Winter 2026 term. This position offers hands-on experience with Bentley Systems tools and exposure to digital delivery workflows for large-scale transportation projects. The intern will contribute to model development, quality control, and project coordination efforts, gaining practical skills in Building Information Modeling (BIM) within a professional consulting environment.
What You'll Do
- Assist in the development and maintenance of 3D BIM models using Bentley Open Roads and Open Bridge Designer
- Support the creation of BIM standards, templates, and project documentation
- Contribute to the setup and configuration of digital delivery workflows for transportation infrastructure projects
- Participate in data validation, quality control, and model coordination
- Support Project Wise administration, including document control, user permissions, and workflow setup
- Provide technical support to end-users working with Bentley tools, helping troubleshoot software and modeling issues

What We Expect from You
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Civil Engineering Technology (CET), or a CAD/CAE-related program, with at least two years of coursework completed by Winter 2026, or equivalent progress in a technical degree
- Familiarity with Bentley software, including Open Roads Designer, Open Bridge Designer, and Project Wise (required)
- A basic understanding of civil infrastructure design principles
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and plans
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Availability to work part-time during Winter 2026 with opportunity to continue through the school year
- Demonstrate openness to innovation by embracing and applying evolving technology and AI tools to enhance workflows, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement
- Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.
