The Role
Tellers are empowered to serve clients and exceed expectations through service delivery excellence. Primarily responsible for client service and support by handling financial transactions for lobby and/or drive‑up clients in a professional manner. Provide clients with clear understanding of the technical aspects and benefits of products and services to support their financial wellness goals.
What You’ll Be Doing- Perform teller transactions accurately and efficiently; maintain a balanced cash drawer while adhering to cash limits and discrepancy procedures.
- Support and adhere to policies and procedures around information security, client identification, cash handling, check cashing, and physical security; understand and apply regulatory and compliance training.
- Serve as the face of Alerus, providing exemplary client service to every client every time.
- Acknowledge and immediately address client requests and issues.
- Assist in identifying solutions to resolve matters and refer clients to appropriate areas to meet their banking needs.
- Develop basic knowledge of Alerus services and products and recognize client opportunities.
- Provide administrative support, including answering and directing phone calls, routing mail, maintaining supplies, and ensuring orderly appearance of common areas.
- Commit to learning resources and ask questions to gain clarity and reduce avoidable errors.
- Previous cash handling and customer service experience strongly preferred.
- Passion for service excellence for both clients and internal partners.
- Professional appearance and attitude.
- Dedicated attendance/punctuality.
- Aptitude to handle sensitive operational transactions and client relationships; attention to detail and discretion are essential.

Work is performed in an office setting. The employee sits for extended periods, occasionally moves around the office using ergonomic safeguards, and may lift or move supplies up to 20 pounds.
Base Pay Range$17.00 – $18.00 per hour
