PMHNP - Psychiatry - Fargo, ND

Job Description: Utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision making skills, works independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. Provides health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention.

We are seeking a mental health practitioner to join our team in serving patient populations throughout the community. This APP will be responsible for providing behavioral health services to individual patients and families across the continuum of care.

• Conducting health screenings and psychiatric evaluations.
• Prescribing, monitoring, managing, and evaluating psychopharmacological medications.
• Providing integrated mental health services in general health settings.
• Collaborating with psychiatrists, seeking consultation when necessary, and referring patients to other providers when necessary.
• Collaborating within the interdisciplinary team to promote behavioral health services on the continuum of care.

• Master’s or Doctorate degree in a related field from an accredited institution with a specialty focus in mental health.
• Current licensure as either a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or a Physician Assistant (PA) with a Psychiatry Certification of Added Qualifications (CAQ).
• Current certification in CPR and national certification in applicable area.
• Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.

Education: Must be certified by a professional organization in order to exercise advanced competencies including mental health promotion and the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic psychiatric conditions.
