Join our healthcare team as a Travel Respiratory Therapist in Fargo, North Dakota, for a 13-week acute care assignment with Level I trauma and adult ICU experience. Respiratory Therapist Job Details
  • Location: Fargo, North Dakota
  • Assignment Type: 13-week travel respiratory therapy assignment
  • Assignment Dates: November 2, 2026 - February 1, 2027
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,830-$1,970
  • Shift Duration: 12 hours
  • Schedule: Rotating day and night shifts, including every other weekend and holidays
  • Care Setting: Adult acute care, adult ICU, and Level I trauma
  • Documentation: Epic EMR
  • Orientation: Respiratory therapy lab orientation and preceptor shifts
  • Additional Opportunity: Extra shifts may be available; occasional floating to other nearby departments or campuses may be required
Registered Respiratory Therapist

Job Requirements
  • At least 2 years of recent respiratory therapy experience
  • Recent Level I trauma and adult ICU experience required; emergency department experience preferred
  • Experience in a facility with 300 or more beds preferred
  • Active North Dakota Respiratory Care license, or willingness to apply within 72 hours of accepting an offer
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred;
    Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) candidates may be considered
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, teamwork, and independent decision-making skills
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and in multiple acute-care areas as needed
Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities
  • Assess patients with cardiopulmonary disorders and develop appropriate respiratory therapy interventions
  • Perform respiratory therapy protocols, arterial punctures, and blood gas analysis
  • Manage invasive ventilation, noninvasive ventilation, high-flow oxygen therapy, and home ventilator support
  • Administer respiratory medications and provide airway clearance therapies
  • Assist with intubations, bedside tracheostomy placement, bronchoscopy, tracheostomy changes, decannulation, and extubation
  • Participate in emergency response teams, ICU rounds, and intrahospital patient transport
  • Provide safe, timely respiratory care across adult critical care, inpatient, emergency, perioperative, and other assigned areas
  • Communicate changes in patient condition and treatment recommendations to physicians, nurses, and other members of the care team
  • Collaborate with fellow Respiratory Therapists while maintaining patient safety and high clinical standards
