We’re hiring a Plant Manager to lead operations for a wood component manufacturing facility in Fargo. This is a key leadership role overseeing the people, production, scheduling, quality, inventory, safety, and overall performance of the plant.
We’re looking for someone with strong experience in truss and component manufacturing who understands how to keep production moving efficiently while leading and developing a strong team.
What You'll be Doing:- Oversee day-to-day operations across roof truss, floor truss, and wall panel production
- Lead, train, and develop production employees while ensuring staffing aligns with production demands
- Set production goals and monitor performance, efficiency, quality, and output
- Manage production scheduling to meet customer deadlines and optimize plant capacity
- Work closely with sales, design, and logistics teams to coordinate production and customer needs
- Develop and manage the plant budget and identify future equipment needs
- Oversee inventory levels and purchasing of lumber, plates, EWP, hangers, and other production materials
- Maintain quality standards and ensure manufactured components meet applicable building codes
- Promote a strong safety culture, including employee training, equipment safety, and OSHA compliance
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity, and overall plant performance
- 5+ years of experience in component manufacturing, including roof trusses, floor trusses, and wall panels
- Strong understanding of truss/component manufacturing operations and production processes
- Proven leadership and people-management experience
- Experience with production scheduling, staffing, inventory, and quality control
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Alpine engineering software and E-Shop plant management software experience preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems
- $80,000-$100,000/year, depending on experience
