Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care to dialysis patients. The RN coordinates care, conducts patient assessment, provides patient education, and implements various nursing interventions. The RN collaborates with inter‑professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate dialysis care. The RN demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise, utilizing appropriate age and population‑specific standards and the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in the state of practice and licensure.
ResponsibilitiesUtilize the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation, and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to dialysis patients. Coordinate care, assess patients, educate patients, and perform various nursing interventions. Collaborate with physicians and inter‑professional team members. Delegate to and supervise unlicensed personnel, maintaining overall nursing accountability for patient care.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program required (AACN, ACEN, NLN CNEA).
- Current unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing and/or multistate licensure (NLC state).
- Maintain required department specific licensure, competencies and certifications.
