The RN triage role works closely with OBGYN physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, nurses, and support staff to deliver coordinated care plans tailored to each patient s needs. The clinic operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Job Summary

• Answer patient inquiries over the telephone, assess the severity of symptoms and medical needs according to triage algorithms.
• Guide patients to the appropriate level of care; schedule patient appointments over the phone with appropriate healthcare providers/facilities/physicians.
• Document information provided to patients during triage in health record systems; record patients  health conditions for follow-up care.
• Maintain and develop triage protocols; ensure patients  healthcare information is updated on time.
• Respond to inquiries through multiple variations of technology, depending on department; educate patients based on calls.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program preferred (AACN, ACEN, NLN CNEA). Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.
• One year of healthcare experience preferred.
• Current, unencumbered RN license in the state of practice and/or multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact state. Nurses performing nursing practice over the telephone must be licensed in the states where the patients reside.
• Within the first 30 days of employment, complete all requirements to obtain license needed for the role. Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.
