Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN with Level III NICU and NRP certification for a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit position requiring rotation between day and night shifts.
Responsibilities- Work in a Level III NICU in an acute care hospital setting
- Unit has 40 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2 for critical and intermediate infants, and 3:1 for growing and feeding infants
- Expected to perform neonatal assessments and advanced procedures including intubation, spinal taps, IV starts, and PICC line placements
- Uses conventional and high frequency ventilators, Draeger, Med Fusion and Smart pumps, Spacelab monitors, nitric oxide, MAK for medications, Accudose, and Epic EMR
- Required to work 12-hour rotating day and night shifts, with every other weekend scheduled
- Role involves comprehensive nursing care for neonates, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Assists with advanced neonatal procedures as part of the care team
- Training includes Epic (One Chart) orientation and two days with a buddy nurse
- Scrub attire is child-friendly with role-specific colored pants
- Must badge in and out at the facility
- Travelers must not reside within a 60 mile radius of the facility, and a reduced rate applies for those living 60-80 miles away
- Candidates with prior Sanford Health employment must have ended their employment at least 6 months before consideration
- Active ND or compact RN license, or willingness to obtain
- At least 2 years of Level III NICU experience
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification
- Current NRP certification
- EPIC experience highly preferred
- Must be able and willing to float to PICU and PEDS units
