Responsibilities
Prepare foods using the established daily menu and present them in an attractive and palliative manner.
Checks menu for the following day to assure ingredients are prepped/available.
Maintain a clean, orderly and safe kitchen environment.
Monitor portion control to meet resident’s requests and minimize waste using leftovers where possible.
Document all food temperatures at all meal times.
Document temperatures taken on all coolers, freezers, dishwasher and sanitizer on a daily basis.
Receives deliveries and invoices.
Readies needed supplies for special events and activities.
Assists in maintaining inventory (FIFO).
Ensure proper handling, labeling and storage of food.
Alter recipes to accommodate special dietary needs of residents or to improve recipes.
Store food properly, label according to policy.
Prepare drinks and silverware before every meal.
Serve food through kitchen opening.
Bus tables, sweep and sanitize tables/great room after all meals and snacks.
Wash, Sort, and sanitize dishes and put them away.
Clean equipment, appliances, floors, drains, storage areas, refrigerators, freezers and sinks on a reoccurring basis.
Prepare food according to prep list.
Take out garbage every shift.
The primary purpose of your job position is to prepare attractive, tasty, nutritious and well-balanced meals according to the developed menus. Responsible to maintain cleanliness and sanitation practices, cook to appropriate temperatures and record food temps. Monitor freezer and refrigerator temperatures. Responsible for preparation and cleanup in the kitchen and dining space.
