Field Service Technician - HAZMAT Emergency Response
Clean Harbors is hiring a Field Service Technician for its Fargo, ND location. The role focuses on hazardous waste clean‑up, site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials.
Location: Fargo, ND
Base pay range: $15.00/hr – $36.00/hr
Travel is required initially as the field book of business is built. All new hires attend a two‑week Academy training out of state, paid and covered by the company.

- Perform strenuous physical labor, including lifting heavy objects.
- Operate light and heavy equipment, hand tools, and powered industrial tools.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) properly, including respirators and other protective gear.
- Work in varied indoor and outdoor temperatures, all weather conditions.
- Operate in environments with potential chemical or physical hazards, confined spaces, elevated noise, and low‑clearance areas.
- Climb ladders, scaffolding, and access trucks, tanks, and containers.
- Work extended periods (>8 hours) and attend compliance and safety meetings.
- Inspect drums for integrity and regulatory compliance.
- Load and unload hazardous and non‑hazardous waste safely.
- Conduct waste stream sampling and profiling as needed.
- Follow all local, state, and federal compliance regulations.
- Operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT and relevant regulations.
- Observe company health and safety guidelines and directives.
- Assist with scheduling of on‑call emergency response rotations (every other week).
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Valid driver’s license and clean MVR.
- Reliable transportation.
- Physical ability to meet job requirements, including extended hours.
- Readiness for on‑call emergency response, including weekends, holidays, and up to 24‑hour shifts.
- Successful background check, drug test, and physical examination.
- Compliance with OSHA respiratory protection standards (facial hair requirements).
- Prior relevant labor experience in hazardous material handling.
