Speechify is hiring a Senior iOS Engineer to support the growth of the iOS app and work on exciting projects to push our product forward. We are a 100% distributed company with a global team, including frontend and backend engineers, AI researchers, and others from major tech companies and universities.

The mission of Speechify is to make sure that reading is never a barrier to learning. Over 50 million people use Speechify’s text-to-speech products to convert PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, websites, and more into audio, helping people read faster, read more, and remember more. Speechify’s products include its iOS app, Android app, Mac app, Chrome Extension, and Web App.

Google named Speechify Chrome Extension of the Year and Apple named Speechify App of the Day.

With the growth of our iOS app (the #18 productivity app in the App Store) and recognition as Apple’s 2025 Design Award for inclusivity, we seek a Senior iOS Engineer to support our new user base and work on new projects. This is a key role for someone who thinks strategically, enjoys fast-paced environments, is passionate about product decisions, and has experience building great user experiences.

We are a flat organization that enables leaders to emerge through excellent technical skills and consistent, fast results. Work ethic, solid communication, and a focus on winning are paramount. Our interview process involves several technical interviews and we aim to complete them within 1 week.

• Opportunity to lead key engineering and product decisions
• Actively shipping production code for the Speechify iOS app

• Maintain and enhance the existing complex app architecture

• Experience:
  
  you've worked on products that scaled to a large user base
• Track record: you have worked on various products from inception to traction and have been responsible for engineering the product
• Customer obsession: every team member whose responsibilities directly impact customers should be obsessed with providing the best possible experience
• Product thinking: you make thoughtful decisions about the evolution of your product and support internal teams and designers
• Speed: you work quickly to generate ideas and know what can ship now vs. what needs more time
• Focus: you can engage or be heads-down as needed in a busy remote startup
• Technical skills:
  Swift, SwiftUI

• Experience in multithreading programming
• Working with CI/CD infrastructure
• Experience with Fastlane
• SOLID principles and applying them to class design
• Experience with Git and understanding of different Git strategies

The United States Based Salary range for this role is: ,000 USD/Year + Bonus + Stock depending on experience
