The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) provides high-quality specimen collection and patient care services while representing the organization with professionalism and compassion. This role performs accurate and timely blood draws, ensures proper specimen handling, and maintains compliance with all safety and confidentiality protocols. The PSR II fosters patient trust through excellent communication and attention to detail while adhering to all established laboratory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Perform all daily phlebotomy and specimen collection duties accurately and on time.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and professional environment.
- Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing.
- Verify patient demographics, labeling, and post-collection confirmation.
- Maintain required documentation and adhere to compliance standards.
- Promote a positive image of the company to patients, clients, and coworkers.
- Support other collection sites as needed with minimal notice.
- 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience
, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections. - At least 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in healthcare or retail settings highly preferred.
- Keyboard and data-entry proficiency.
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training.
- Experience in high-volume laboratory or diagnostic settings.
- Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience in phlebotomy.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills
, including pediatric and geriatric draws. - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Superior customer focus and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities under pressure.
- Commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and process improvement.
