Process Technician - 1st Shift at Tru Vue

Location:

Faribault, MN

• Operate gas system, power supplies, drive system, vent and pumping systems, and all testing equipment required for the position.
• Check calibrations and troubleshoot instruments. Prepare samples for experiments and long term environmental testing.
• Conduct tune-in and design control of all Tru Vue optical coatings. Monitor yields and work with Process Technicians, Quality Assurance Technicians, Supervisors, and support staff to troubleshoot defects and minimize yield loss.
• Rotate through duties with other Process Technicians and Production staff to ensure customer satisfaction. Record information at established intervals and maintain detailed, organized data records.
• Document and monitor procedures to eliminate variation and promote knowledge sharing. Assist in development and regular audits of work instructions; train and certify team members and assist in special projects.
• Assist with troubleshooting of the entire system. Perform work on process equipment (vacuum gauges, turbo pumps, power supplies, cathodes, leak checking equipment, etc.).
• Participate in team problem solving and process improvement meetings. Support root cause analysis of troubleshooting and quality issues.
• Participate in regularly scheduled maintenance of vacuum systems and drive continuous improvement to eliminate waste and variation in processes.
• Cross-train in related functions and assist others in obtaining cross-functional capabilities.
• Perform similar or related duties as necessary to support Tru Vue, Inc.

(minimum requirements)

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field desirable.
• Two years’ work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to use analytical equipment and computers. Familiarity with vacuum system operation and control. Process Control experience is a plus. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Quality systems preferred.

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Strong math aptitude and computer skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook; ability to maintain electronic quality records.
• Ability to work in a team environment and cross-train in related functions.
• Leadership potential to coach others to follow work instructions, achieve standards, and reach team goals.
• Willingness to learn and follow documented work procedures; sensitivity to quality and on-time delivery of materials.
• Willingness to learn all production jobs and work in a multicultural environment.

The work environment is primarily in an office setting with potential interaction on the plant floor. The production environment can be loud; reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

The position requires verbal and written communication in English to complete daily business requirements, including team meetings, work instructions, management or customer presentations, projects, safety instructions, and training.

Job Location: Faribault, MN

Hourly Rate: Starting from $22.50

Schedule: 6am-2:30pm Monday-Friday
