Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift at Tru Vue

Tru Vue Inc. offers high‑performance solutions and seeks a dedicated Maintenance Technician for the 1st Shift to help maintain, repair, calibrate, and improve our production equipment, ensuring uptime and safety.

Purpose and Scope

Maintain, repair, calibrate, adapt and improve controls, power supplies and equipment in a timely manner to assure that production and uptime goals are met and equipment is proactively maintained. Also responsible for assisting in the development of work instructions, training and certifying team members and assisting in special projects.

Expected Outcomes / Job Functions
  • Perform all job requirements in a safe manner and act as a proactive safety role model.
  • Correct/report unsafe behaviors or equipment to maintain a safe environment.
  • Maintain cleanliness within the work department.
  • Attend all scheduled safety training meetings.
  • Engage in extracurricular safety programs as encouraged.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the maintenance of all equipment, acquiring thorough technical knowledge of plant operations, equipment and processes.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and rebuild parts as required.
  • Perform basic plumbing installation and repairs.
  • Assist with inventories and control of supplies, using iMaint to determine inventory levels.
  • Use approved safety equipment and follow business process documentation.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with all department employees.
  • Apply good work habits and maintain a neat, orderly work area.
  • Complete Tru Vue Train the Trainer program and train Level‑1 employees to achieve Level‑2 maintenance.
  • Utilize Lean Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement techniques to improve overall plant operations (safety, quality, productivity, OEE).
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to use iMaint (CMMS) to document all work and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Current license for powered industrial equipment.
  • Basic plumbing installation and repairs skills.
  • Proficiency with mechanical measuring devices and complex testing equipment (VOM, pH, conductivity meters).
  • General mechanical knowledge and ability to read basic electrical blueprints.
  • Minimal supervision troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to train others and learn Lean Six Sigma & Continuous Improvement.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED.
  • 5+ years of experience or a technical degree in a related field and 2–5 years experience as an industrial maintenance mechanic.
  • Proven mechanical and electrical repair abilities.
  • Understanding of vacuum systems (preferred).
  • Lathe and mill experience helpful.

Working Conditions

Typical production environment: loud noise, moving mechanical parts, occasional vibration, electric shock risk, varying temperatures (heat and cold). Reasonable accommodations available.

Physical Demands

Requires sitting, standing, walking, talking; use of hands/arms; occasional lifting up to 30 pounds. Vision: close vision, color vision, ability to adjust focus.

Communication Expectations

Verbal and written communication in English for daily business requirements, team meetings, safety training, project updates, and documentation.

Pay Range
  • $20.00–$26.00 per hour
