Overview

Production Technician at Tru Vue position. This role supports the daily operation of the coating line production system, with responsibilities including control of the process, parameter adjustment, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
  • Operate gas system, power supplies, drive system, vent and pumping systems. Include operating testing equipment, checking calibrations, and troubleshooting instruments.
  • Prepare samples for experiments and long-term environmental testing; conduct tune-in and design control of optical coatings.
  • Monitor yields and collaborate with Process Technicians, Quality Assurance Technicians, Supervisors, and support staff to troubleshoot defects and minimize yield loss.
  • Record information at established intervals and maintain detailed data records.
  • Document and monitor procedures to eliminate variation and promote knowledge sharing; assist in developing and auditing work instructions; train and certify team members; assist in special projects.
  • Assist with troubleshooting of the entire system and perform work on process equipment (vacuum gauges, turbo pumps, power supplies, cathodes, leak checking equipment, etc.).
  • Participate in team problem solving and process improvement meetings; support root cause analysis of quality issues.
  • Engage in regularly scheduled maintenance of vacuum systems and support continuous improvement to reduce waste and variation.
  • Cross-train in related functions and assist others in obtaining cross-functional capabilities; perform other related duties as needed to support Tru Vue, Inc.
Education and Experience

Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is desirable. Two years’ work experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Demonstrated ability to use analytical equipment and computers. Familiarity with the operation and control of a vacuum system. Process Control experience is a plus. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Quality systems is preferred.

Working Conditions

The work environment is primarily an office setting with interactions on the plant floor. The production environment is typically noisy; reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Physical Demands

Regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear. Use hands to handle, feel, and operate objects. May occasionally lift and move up to 30 pounds. Vision requirements include close and color vision and ability to adjust focus. See HR for specific lifting thresholds.

Communication Expectations

Proficiency in English is required for verbal and written communication essential to daily business requirements, including team meetings, work instructions, safety instructions, and documentation.

6am-2:30pm, Monday–Friday
