Truck Driver | Local Routes

Spherion is in search of a reliable and professional Semi-Truck Driver to safely transport food products and supply materials to distribution centers, processing plants, and customer locations. You will be responsible for operating commercial vehicles, ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining compliance with DOT regulations, and upholding strict food safety standards during transit.

• Wage: $24 - $30/HR Depending on experience
• Schedule:
  
  Day shifts, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
• Compensation:
  Competitive hourly wage based on experience, plus comprehensive benefits package

  Modern, well-maintained tractor-trailers with refrigerated units (reefers)
• Travel Requirements:
  No travel - This position almost exclusively drives on company property. A CDL is required because it includes driving across the street to our other buildings, or to fill up with fuel, which requires driving on public roads.

• Safely operate Class A tractor-trailer combinations over designated regional routes.
• Monitor and maintain temperature settings for refrigerated trailers (reefers) to safeguard food product quality.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and operational compliance.
• Maintain accurate Electronic Logging Device (ELD) records and delivery logs in compliance with DOT regulations.
• Loads and unloads trucks using power forklift ensuring product and material integrity is maintained in conjunction with Company policy and standards.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customer representatives regarding schedules and potential delays.

8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

• Strong knowledge of commercial vehicle operation and safety regulations.
• Experience with temperature-controlled/reefer transport is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with digital logging devices (ELDs) and GPS navigation systems.
• Excellent time-management and route-planning skills.
• Strong communication skills and a professional customer-service mindset.

• High School

• 1-4 years

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) in good standing.
• Minimum of 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience.
• Forklift operation experience
• Familiar with securing loads in the trailer for transport
• Current Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Card.
• Clean driving record with no major traffic violations or preventable accidents within the past 3 years.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• Ability to handle physical demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and securing cargo.
