Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Mainframe DBA with strong expertise in DB2 z/OS and IMS to support mission-critical databases across development, testing, pre-production, and production data-sharing environments. The role involves database design, optimization, break-fix support, security administration, automation, and implementation of new database features.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, administer, optimize, and support DB2 z/OS v12 and IMS v15 databases.
Work with IMS FF/FP databases and DB2 z/OS data-sharing environments.
Convert logical database models into physical database designs.
Perform access path re-engineering and optimization for large-scale databases.
Administer database security in accordance with zDBMS standards.
Perform backups, reorganizations, database analysis, and troubleshooting.
Diagnose and resolve database errors and performance issues.
Use BMC Admin tools , including Change Manager, for database administration.
Work with IBM Data Studio, IBM utilities, and BMC utilities for DB2 and IMS.
Support database feature implementations, automation, and break-fix activities.
Drive/support application migration initiatives from z/OS to PostgreSQL .
Support conversion of VSAM table spaces to Universal Table Spaces (UTS) in preparation for DB2 z/OS v13 and large-scale database growth.
Support mission-critical applications and large database environments.
Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and development teams.
Mentor junior DBAs and provide technical guidance.
