Mechanical Project Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join a major UK water-sector infrastructure upgrade at a live operational site in Kingston Bagpuize
. This role is well suited to an engineer with strong mechanical delivery experience within regulated utilities or heavy infrastructure environments.

You will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of a site upgrade project, working closely with design teams, supply chain partners, and site-based delivery teams to ensure mechanical works are delivered safely, compliantly, and efficiently.

• Reviewing mechanical designs to ensure buildability and compliance
• Ensuring compliance with relevant asset standards and engineering specifications
• Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, and the wider supply chain
• Managing the ordering and technical specification of mechanical equipment
• Providing installation support and on-site technical management
• Managing technical queries (TQs), deviations, and change control processes
• Supporting commissioning and handover activities as required

• Degree or HNC/HND qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• Proven experience delivering mechanical works on infrastructure or utilities projects
• Strong understanding of asset standards, design assurance, and change control
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and supply chains
• Confident communicator with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
• Previous experience in the water or wastewater sector is highly desirable
