We are supporting a growing SME client based in Didcot, Oxfordshire, who are looking to appoint an experienced Interim Management Accountant on an initial 3-6 month contract.

This is a great opportunity for a hands-on, qualified accountant to join the finance function during a particularly busy period. You will provide additional support across the wider finance team, with a particular focus on month-end management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, budgeting and forecasting.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, able to hit the ground running and have strong experience operating within a fast-paced finance environment.

• Support the production of accurate and timely monthly management accounts
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare and post accruals, prepayments and journals
• Assist with month-end close and associated reporting activities
• Undertake variance analysis, investigating and explaining key movements
• Support the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
• Assist with cash flow and wider financial analysis where required
• Provide ad-hoc analysis and reporting to support the Finance Manager / wider leadership team
• Identify and resolve discrepancies, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial information
• Provide general support across the finance function during a period of increased workload

We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant who can quickly integrate into an existing finance team and add value from day one.

• Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA
• Strong, proven experience producing month-end management accounts
• Strong understanding of balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and journals
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to manipulate and analyse large datasets
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of financial accuracy
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
• Immediately available or available at short notice

• Previous experience within an SME or growing business
• Experience working in an interim / contract capacity
• Experience supporting process improvements within a finance function
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
