Join Our Team as a Male Waking Night Support Worker

Location:

Drayton, Abingdon, Oxfordshire

Salary: £13.69 per hour (£26,695.5 per annum) plus benefits

Hours:

10:00 pm to 7:15 am (Monday to Sunday on a shift rota basis. Please note, the shifts may vary due to the needs of the people we support)

Contract:

Full-time (37.5 hours per week), Permanent

Driving Requirement: A valid UK manual driving licence is required

What You’ll Need

Who You’ll Be Supporting

John* – You’ll be supporting John, a vibrant individual with complex needs who is moving into a specially adapted home. John lives in a single‑occupancy home that has been adapted to meet his complex needs.

He loves going out every Friday for KFC, also trips to cafés and going on drives. His dad is a big part of his life, so family involvement is key and often has family visiting him. When he is not out and about enjoying himself, he usually likes to be at home listening to music (especially classical), Disney films, colouring, and outdoor fun like trampolining and swings in the garden.

Routine is very important to James.

You’ll be making a real impact with a person who has:

  • Learning disabilities, including the use of communication tools such as Makaton or PECs
  • Working with individuals with autism and/or visual impairments
  • Experience with highly challenged behaviour and the application of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies

From January 2026 to end of March 2026, you’ll need to travel to Birmingham (B38 area) during his transition before he moves to Drayton, Abingdon on April 2026. As his new home is being renovated for his person‑centred care and needs, we will pay towards travel during this transition period.
