Join Our Team as a Complex Needs Male Support Worker
LocationDrayton, Abingdon, Oxfordshire
Salary£13.69 per hour (£26,695.5 per annum) plus benefits
Hours7.00 am – 3.00 pm, 2.00 pm – 10.00 pm (Monday to Sunday on a shift rota basis). Shifts may vary to meet the needs of those we support.
ContractFull‑time (37.5 hours per week), Permanent

What You’ll Need- Strong English communication skills (spoken & written)
- Previous experience in a care/support setting
- A valid manual UK driving licence
- The legal right to live and work in the UK
- Supporting daily routines – from morning support to bedtime
- Planning fun, person‑centred activities that boost wellbeing
- Contributing to tailored support plans
- Building therapeutic relationships that truly make a difference
- Keeping accurate support notes – every detail matters
John – a vibrant individual with complex needs moving into a specially adapted home. He enjoys going out for KFC on Fridays, trips to cafés, drives, music (especially classical), Disney films, colouring and outdoor fun such as trampolining and garden swings. Routine is very important to him.
He has learning disabilities and may use communication tools such as Makaton or PECs. He has autism and/or visual impairments and may exhibit highly challenging behaviour. Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies will be applied.
Note: From January 2026 to the end of March 2026 you will need to travel to Birmingham (B38 area) during his transition before moving to Drayton, Abingdon in April 2026. Travel costs will be covered during this period.
