LHH is working with a large retail organization that is adding a new Corporate Accountant to their team. In this position you will be responsible for managing the general ledger related to corporate operations. This role involves recording and reviewing expenses across various departments in accordance with established accounting principles. The accountant ensures accurate cost allocation during the month-end closing process and conducts reconciliations for relevant balance sheet accounts.

Additionally, the position involves reporting budget analyses to department heads as needed.

• Oversee the month-end closing process for corporate departments, including reviewing posted expenses and making necessary journal entries.
• Analyze departmental expenditures against budget and provide performance reports to department leads.
• Collaborate with the ERP team to define GL coding for departmental special projects.
• Perform monthly reconciliations for relevant balance sheet accounts.
• Engage quarterly with department leaders to align accounting practices with departmental strategies and expenditures.
• Conduct technical accounting research as required.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• A minimum of three years of accounting experience.
• Eligible for Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
• General knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to present information effectively to stakeholders.
