As a Part‑Time Dallas/DFW Nursing Adjunct Faculty member, the primary responsibility is to provide didactic, lab, and/or clinical education to students in the BSN program. The role requires teaching, guiding students, assessing performance, promoting evidence‑based practice, and collaborating with faculty and clinical partners.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitates effective student learning in the assigned clinical setting, lab setting, or didactic setting.
  • Provides adequate guidance for students in the assigned course(s) related to professionalism, practice, and research.
  • Selects and organizes learning activities that facilitate the attainment of course outcomes.
  • Ensures effective evaluations of student practice.
  • Promotes evidence‑based practice and a supportive learning environment.
  • Provides feedback on student progress to supervisory personnel.
  • Collaborates with other faculty and administration as requested.
  • Collaborates effectively with healthcare partners and staff for clinical courses.
  • Maintains current knowledge of the nursing curriculum, policies, and requirements.
  • Maintains clinical competence and knowledge in the area of expertise.
  • Attends all required orientation, training, and faculty meetings.
  • Teaches assigned number of classes using prescribed courses of study and instructional materials.
  • Facilitates effective instruction in the online setting and interacts with students at least three times weekly.
  • Develops, organizes, and evaluates courses in collaboration with the teaching team.
  • Communicates course outcomes effectively to students.
  • Participates in planning, implementing, and evaluating the Nursing Program.
  • Performs other assignments as directed by the Director of the Undergraduate Nursing Program or the Director of Nursing Academics.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Nursing or a doctorate in Nursing.
  • Current unencumbered RN license in Texas or another compact state.
  • Minimum of two years of successful clinical nursing practice.
  • Clinical competence:
    Able to function with professional accountability in clinical settings.
  • Teaching competence:
    Able to create a climate conducive to positive student learning.
  • Technology competence:
    Able to use computer technology (Word, PowerPoint, E‑mail, Internet) at a minimum.
  • Willingness to facilitate distance education and recognize its importance.
  • Ability to provide a high level of professional nursing care to patients and clients.
  • Commitment to continued professional learning and to encouraging diversity, inclusion, and equity.
  • Ability to articulate and model the Concordia University Texas mission, vision, and values.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Able to work 12‑hour shifts in a clinical setting if required.
  • Reliable transportation.
