Credit Analyst at BSN SPORTS

Location: 14460 Varsity Brands Way, Farmers Branch, TX 75244
Hours: Mon‑Fri; 8am‑5pm CST
Travel: Less than 10%
Pay: $21.75‑$27 per hour

What You Will Do
  • Analyze creditworthiness and set credit limits for new and existing customers using financial statements, credit applications, Dun & Bradstreet reports, ratings information and other credit tools.
  • Minimize bad‑debt risk.
  • Communicate credit department and company policies.
  • Participate in process‑improvement projects and support other directives as prescribed.
  • Develop relationships with internal and external customers and provide customer‑service support.
  • Review, release or reject pending orders in a credit‑hold status.
  • Inform the Finance Leadership Team of any customer account operating outside department standards.
  • Serve as a conduit between the Collections team and the Finance Leadership team to keep the customer’s risk category within standards.
Daily Operations of the Credit Analyst Customer Creation and Master Data Records
  • Oversee the process of creating new and updating existing accounts to ensure timely completion while seeking process improvements.
  • Implement data‑cleansing activities to identify and resolve duplicate records, inaccurate information, etc.
  • Define and enforce data‑quality standards for customer attributes such as names, addresses, contact information, and ERP‑specific elements like Customer Group and Customer Class.
  • Work closely with stakeholders from Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and IT to address data‑quality issues and implement improvements.
Working CIS/Credit Apps
  • Work with Sales and CSR to obtain the CIS/Credit App.
  • Obtain all required information – Authorized Purchasers, banking/credit reference information – from Sales, CSR, and customers.
  • Collect customers’ financial information from banks or other financial institutions via fax, email, or online programs.
  • Set up the customer with an appropriate credit limit in SAP after all information is gathered.
Working with Offshore Team on Credit Order Releases
  • Oversee the daily order release process by assisting the offshore team when needed:
    • Review orders that the system places on hold to determine release eligibility or required actions.
    • Work with Collections and Sales to obtain payment information for accounts that are past due or over the credit limit.
    • Obtain additional information such as a hard‑copy PO, PO number, or approval from the customer (OAF form).
    • Obtain a CIS or Credit App to approve customer for credit terms.
    • Send orders to the management team if the order value exceeds the assigned release limitations.
Qualifications Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations.
  • Ability to work independently and function in a fast‑paced team environment, collaborating with other teams to exceed quality and volume objectives.
  • Excellent organizational and multi‑tasking skills.
  • Strong verbal and business communication skills.
  • Detail oriented.
Education / Experience
  • High School Diploma (College Degree preferred).
  • 2–3 years of commercial credit experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Master Data and reporting experience.

Physical Requirements The role is a professional office position, largely sedentary with occasional filing. The ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, bend, and stand on a stool as necessary is required. The ability to sit or stand for long periods in meetings and while operating office equipment, PCs, laptops, and telephones is required.
