Position OverviewAs a Data Architect within PNC's Data Products Organization, you will be based in Dallas, TX, Pittsburgh, PA, Strongsville, OH or Birmingham, AL.
Responsibilities require time in the office on a weekly basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at the manager’s discretion.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop and optimize data warehouses with flexible and scalable data and ETL architecture to support business users and BI applications.
- Analyze business intelligence data and make recommendations for data warehouse growth and integration of applications/business functions.
- Work with IT and business customers to capture requirements for designing the data warehouse architecture.
- Provide support and technical guidance to ensure solutions are aligned with the architecture and framework.
- Lead and consult on the implementation and integration of data warehouses; ensure solutions meet organizational quality and integrity standards.
- Extensive experience with big data technologies and distributed computing tools (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Kafka, etc.)
- Strong proficiency in relevant programming languages such as Python, PySpark, Spark, SQL
- Proficient in containerization (Open Shift, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)
- Experience with public cloud platforms – Apache Iceberg and AWS S3
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux shell scripting
- Proven data literacy skills to describe business outcomes, data uses, data sources, and their management concepts and analytical approaches to all organizational levels in both business and technology.
- Ability to develop solutions, review architecture and identify areas for automation, optimization, right‑sizing, and cost reduction.
- Design, build and test data integration processes between business‑critical applications.
- Define and implement internal process improvements through detailed analytics that provide actionable insights into key business performance metrics.
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years of industry‑relevant experience in data architecture, data warehousing, or a similar role.
- Strong technical knowledge in enterprise architecture frameworks, machine learning, risk assessments, and database structures.
- Certifications are not required but may be considered.
- Customer focused – align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations.
- Managing risk – assess and manage risks associated with business objectives to support PNC’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
