Position Overview

At PNC, our people are our greatest differentiator. The role will be based in Pittsburgh, PA or Dallas, TX, with responsibilities requiring time in the office or field regularly. Some functions may be performed remotely at the manager’s discretion.

• Lead and govern enterprise Digital Identity development efforts within Agile teams.
• Support the creation of Java applications using Microservices and REST APIs, Identity products/applications, and ensure compliance with modern security best practices.
• Contribute to overall software development, maintain existing applications.
• Guide solution architects, propose physical designs and software solutions for complex business needs.
• Work with the Product Owner in a safe Agile environment to understand requirements and assess feasibility.
• Analyze implementation impact and associated risks.
• Prepare technical and procedural documentation.
• Review coding, testing, and documentation of peer team members.
• Support developers for deployment of software components through environments.
• Apply modern principles, methodologies, and tools to advance business initiatives and capabilities.
• Champion industry and security best practices.
• Support governance of solution design across development and engineering.
• Influence, lead, and support compliance with technical design and development of software solutions.
• Continuously evaluate industry best practices, contribute to organization best practices, and support oversight of applied practices.

• Experience building enterprise applications using Java.
• Experience in Core Java.
• Experience creating and supporting Spring Boot microservices.
• Experience with Java testing frameworks (JUnit, Mocks, etc).
• Experience with source control tools such as Git.
• Experience with Apigee.
• Experience using JWT tokens and OAuth strategies.
• Experience creating web services providing REST/RESTful APIs.
• Experience implementing and maintaining authentication and authorization services.
• Experience implementing and supporting industry Dev Ops best practices.
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines (Jenkins or equivalent).
• Experience leading and/or coaching other software developers to improve software development and follow best practices.

Successful candidates possess appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for this role. Educational requirements typically include a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of industry‑relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, certification(s), and experience (including military service).
