OVERVIEW
The Rendering Clerk is responsible for supporting rendering operations through administrative, inventory, shipping, and compliance-related tasks. This role ensures accurate scheduling, documentation, inventory tracking, customer communication, and regulatory reporting while maintaining organization and efficiency in a fast-paced plant environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS- Maintain a clean and organized office and filing system.
- Order office supplies and product sampling materials.
- Create and maintain spreadsheets, folders, and binders as needed.
- Schedule product loads based on commodities sold and available inventory.
- Communicate shipping schedules and updates to customers via email.
- Prepare and print BOL's, trailer checklists, seal numbers, sample labels, and product specification sheets.
- Check drivers in and out, collect weight tickets, calculate load totals, obtain signatures, and retain copies for records.
- Secure and seal tankers and trailers after loading.
- Enter all shipped loads into the shared drive and create orders in AEROS.
- Scan and upload shipped load documentation with order numbers for accounting purposes.
- Create inventory reports and submit to accounting.
- Monitor inventory daily to ensure product availability for scheduled loads.
- Operate lab equipment for product sampling once trained to ensure products meet customer specifications.
- Collect, prepare, and ship product samples according to submission requirements.
- Send samples to laboratory for testing.
- File plant operation logs in appropriate binders.
- Prepare quarterly tonnage reports for the Louisiana Department of Agriculture & Forestry and Texas State Feed & Fertilizer.
- Complete check request documents and attach required supporting documentation.
- Review and maintain safety binders to ensure all materials are current.
- Ability to work 40+ hours per week with occasional overtime as required.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Basic math skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a busy production environment.
- Willingness and ability to learn and operate analytical lab equipment for rendering samples.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry 30-50 lbs.
- Ability to walk and work in hot and cold environments.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the plant and office areas as needed.
